I have not traditionally been a fan of comics. After reading the excerpt from "Understanding Comics", amazingly, I understand and appreciate this art form more. I had never contemplated the vast amount of planning that goes into making a comic. I was particularly fascinated with the idea that in comics, time and space are combined. It was amazing how simple differences in the framing would completely change the way your brain pieced together the information. I've always wondered why there are just those people who can't get into comics, and why there are those who love them. I now realize that those people who just don't get comics really have no imagination. The ability to enjoy and understand a comic is dependent on your ability to complete the scenes in your mind...
