One of my preliminary ideas was to incorporate characters into the cards. Where players would command a card army similar to pokemon.
Pixel pictionary is played when one team member hand pixels out a letter and their team member has to guess the letter in as few tries, and as few pixels as possible. We ultimately scrapped this idea because it was boring to play...and we didn't have any competition.Above this is the idea of "driving in the car game". Each player receives a selection of cards and they must identify objects that begin with the letter of the card. Once an object is is identified it may never be used again by another player so the game gets progressively harder.
We returned to the idea of commanding an army. I called it "warriors and demons game". The idea was that two players would face off on a playing board and battle when their cards overlapped.
We began to develop the idea by laying out a playing field.

The cards range in power from 9 to 4 with letters A through L representing the good kingdom, and P through Z the dark kingdom. M and N are the treasure cards which the teams are trying to capture. When players cards overlap they go into the battle stage where each player randomly selects a certain number of letter cards from the battle pile (two separate stacks of cards from A-Z) in proportion to their card which is the battle. The players exchange hands and whoever can arrange the letter cards in alphabetical order first wins the battle sending the opponents card to the nether world. The game wins win the treasure is captured or you kill all your opponents cards.
The idea for the battle stage was incorporated from a previous game idea in which players would just try to arrange cards as fast as possible. We combined our army idea, with our card arranging idea to create the ultimate battle between good and evil.
I would like to illustrate each card with a character but I don't know if this is feasible. The cards will definitely feature illustrated borders to distinguish between each kingdoms cards. All I know is that the "dark kingdom" will feature skulls, axes, thing generally associated with evil trolls.
and more stuff that is too incomplete to comment about.
